Mariya Antonova, Director of AUCA鈥檚 Writing and Academic Resource Center (WARC), and Paul Drosnes, WARC Coordinator, share with us some information about the university鈥檚 tutoring center. 听

On March 26 at the Kyrgyz National University, AUCA students Lu Tian (ECO-114) and Malianchinova Khamida (JMC-112) participated in Japanese Language Speech Contest. AUCA students were involved into this event for the first time.

Diana Takutdinova, ANTH -108, 番茄直播 (AUCA) alumni ambassador in Norway, tells us about her study and work at AUCA, about her career path after graduation, and her Master鈥檚 Programs in Norway. 听

Carly Seedall, an exchange student from Franklin University Switzerland, currently studies International and Comparative Politics at the 番茄直播 (AUCA). Carly talked to us about her time here at AUCA.

On March 8, 2016, International Women鈥檚 Day was celebrated in AUCA鈥檚 International Dormitory.听The dorm residents organized a mini-concert in honor of International Women鈥檚 day.听At the event, dorm residents sang songs, shared their own stories, recited poetry they had written, and played games.

In partnership with the Estonian Institute of Human Rights and the University of Tartu, the Law Division of AUCA conducted a one-week intensive modular course entitled 鈥淐ontemporary issues in International Humanitarian law鈥�.

Vanessa Graf, originally from Austria, is an exchange student from Sciences Po University, at the Dijon campus in France. Currently Vanessa is studying International and Comparative Politics at AUCA. Vanessa shared her thoughts about life and studies in Kyrgyzstan.

Last academic year ,2014-2015, the Student Intellectual Life Committee听(SILC) at the 番茄直播 (AUCA) gave grants to 25 sophomores, 24 juniors, and 13 seniors. Khamida Malianchinova, a senior in Journalism and Mass Communications, shares her SILC experience.

AUCA faculty Medet Tiulegenov (ICP), G枚rkem Atsungur (ES) and Saniia Toktogazieva (IBL) were invited to visit Bard College on January 31 鈥� February 7, 2016. They participated in two Human Rights workshops hosted by the Center for Civic Engagement of Bard College, New York.

On March 11, 2016, students in the Environmental Management and Sustainable Development program (EMSD) visited the Bishkek Water Museum. Students saw old (but still effective) techniques for water management in Kyrgyzstan, renewable technologies related to hydro and solar power.
